In 1972, the former German paratrooper and currently a researcher 79-year-old Werner Freund
founded the wolf sanctuary "Park Werner Freund wolves" in Merzig in Germany. For 40 years, Freund grew more than 70 wolves. Now a 10-hectare nature reserve live 29 animals that form the six packs. In order to enjoy the respect of wolves, Werner has to act like the pack leader.
